The clamour for online marketing business is increasing. A lot of people are finding their niche in cyberspace, making names for their selves as well as earning the big bucks. The internet is an endless universe of career opportunities. Online marketing, advertising, blogging and the likes circle the World Wide Web waiting for people to grab them and make something out of it. Since there is much media exposure via emails, videos, blogs and articles, it is easy to get overboard and overwhelm people. To keep track and assess advertiser’s campaign performance, you will need an efficient analyst. Find out what makes a good analyst by knowing what the online marketing analyst job description is.

The main role of an online marketing analyst is to assess and an ad campaign performance in order to weed out and eliminate media waste and increase online conversions. A research analyst is not a data base researcher or manager. A Research analyst designs or assists in the development of questionnaires identify who or which are the competitors and find out about the changes in the industry that will directly or indirectly affect sales.

An online marketing analyst must have online analytics or digital analyst background. He or she must be able to answer questions about sales predictions, forecasting and determine the number of sales one would get as a result of expected increase in media activity. He or she must have the ability to assess a problem to determine how to go about finding a proper and efficient solution to it and not the mention the ability to act on the problem the soonest possible time.

A good analyst must be well schooled in Excel, Vlookups, Pivot Tables and Solver. If they have skills with these software and tools, they can easily analyze data with top speed efficiency. Most experienced analysts can process and analyze date quickly. So great knowledge on the use of Excel will be one of the key qualities to look for when you want to search for a good online marketing analyst.

Also, a good online analyst must have some background in media planning or buying. Since there is much data to be processed from the large quantity of internet users, it is very easy to waste time analyzing and studying the information but ending up with nothing to work on and useless information. If your analyst has some good background with media planning, he or she can quickly devise strategies and make decisions without having to waste too much time.

Finally, one of the most important online marketing analyst job descriptions there is, is the QUALITY of PERFORMANCE, DEDICATION, DISCIPLINE and WORK. Even if you have the best, most promising analyst, if he or she does not care much for the job he or she is doing, then you will never benefit much of anything.

With two wars going on and the ever presence of another terrorist attack on our soil, more and more young men are deciding to join the Armed Forces. For those joining the U.S. Army, they may decided to further their career by joining one of the specialized branches. In case you’re thinking you might like to join and you’re trying to learn how to become a Army Ranger, read on. I’ll point you in the right direction.

First off, learning how to become an Army Ranger has several paths.. Probably the best way for the average un-enlisted young man is to march down to the Army Recruiters office and sign up under the Army Ranger Contract. The contract ensures your spot at Airborne School and assignment to the 75th Ranger Regiment to attend the Ranger Indoctrination Program.

The requirements of this program are; you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien (whatever that is!), be 18 years or older, have a High School diploma or GED, pass the Army physical fitness program, be eligible to pass a secret level security clearance, score a 50 or better on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and have a GT score of 110 or better.

For all you out there who think you just do as little as possible to pass the ASVAB, let me tell you something. If you want more choices, and better ones, along with bonuses and preferred treatment in getting into other areas of the U.S. Army, then you need a high you score on your ASVAB. This will open all those doors, including the door to becoming an Army Ranger or other Special Forces.

Army Ranger Training

As a Ranger trainee, you’ll undergo 9 weeks of Boot Camp and then Advanced Infantry Training for your MOS. AFT training time varies depending up on what your MOS is.

After graduating Advanced Infantry Training, you’ll continue at Army Airborne School and then on to the Ranger Indoctrination Program in Fort Benning Georgia.

Airborne School is broken down into three weeks. You’ll have the Tower week, Jump week and Ground week. Each week presents its own set of challenging obstacles.

Should you actually make it through Airborne training, you’ll quickly be whisked away to the Ranger Indoctrination Program which lasts for four weeks. Here, you’ll undergo these and types of training.

Daily Physical Training – Ranger History test – Map Reading – Airborne Operation – Ranger Standards -Day and night land navigation – 5-mile run – Combat – Knots – Combat Water Survival Test (to become a Ranger, you must pass this test by swimming at least 15 meters in BDU’s, Boots and other gear) – 6, 8 and 10-mile road marches – Fast Rope Training – Combat Lifesaver certification

To qualify for the 75th Ranger Regiment, you must also make at least 80% on the Army Physical Fitness Test and complete a 5 mile run. But that’s not all, you have to run these miles in 8 minutes or less! As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also have to complete at least one march of 12 miles long in 3 hours or less and a score of at least 70 on all exams.

Once you’ve completed these requirements, and only then, will you be considered a Ranger. After that you can attend Ranger School. This is one of the toughest training regiments on the U.S. Army and many don’t make it. Attendance of the Ranger School is mandatory for anyone wishing to be an NCO in the Rangers. Now that you know what it takes to become a Ranger, are you up for the task?

Learning how to become a police officer is a little more complex these days as opposed to days past. I don’t know about modern times, but back in my day, many boys wanted to be either Firemen, Astronauts or Policemen. As if you didn’t know already, being a Policeman isn’t going to make you rich. It’s one of those jobs you do because you want to help people and serve your community. You don’t do this job because you want to carry a badge and a gun. People who enter the Police force for this reason are generally disappointed in their career down the road. Either they realize it’s not the ball of wax they thought it would be or they end up trouble because they crossed the line. Just remember, nowadays everyone and their brother has a cell phone that will take pictures and video. You’ll be under public scrutiny 24/7 plus the media will be waiting like rabid dogs for you to screw up so they can make you and the Police department you work for out to be monsters. But hey, if you can get past all this, then you may make a pretty good cop!

In the past, some smaller towns and cities allowed you to become a Police Officer by joining their force and being trained by senior officers. In others municipalities, you could become a police officer if you had previous experience such as being a Military MP. Speaking of the Military, a stint in the Military is a good way to get your feet in the door, especially if you were an MP. Not only will it let many departments know you’ve had some kind of formal training, it will also let them know you’ve had the best training money could buy!

Nowadays, more and more jurisdictions are requiring new applicants to have some college educations, certifications as well as some formal training. Larger cities may even require you to enroll into their Police Academy.

Training, Prerequisites and Educational Requirements for Becoming a Police Officer

If you want to make a career out of being a Police Officer, here are a few things you’ll need in order to meet the requirements of becoming a police officer with many agencies.

Most City and County Law Enforcement agencies will require you to be 20 years old, a U.S. Citizen with a High School diploma or GED. Many now would like for you to have some higher education and if you want to go on to be a Federal Law Enforcement officer such as an FBI agent, then you’ll be required to have a four year degree. A second language will also be a feather in your hat!

Keep your nose clean. If you have a rap sheet as long as your arm by the time you’re a senior in High School, you may be accepted into an academy or other training program for Police Officers, but the chances are mighty slim. If any of those hits are felonies, I can almost guarantee you that you’ll be wasting your time trying to get on the Police force of a large city.

You’ll also need a High School education. Some Police Departments have volunteer and ride along programs for young men and women looking to get on the force. If the Sheriff’s Department or a City in your area offers such a program, then it would be good for you to partake in these programs. Even if it is as a volunteer. Some go by the name of Police Rangers, Police Explorers or Police Cadet programs. Ask around and I bet you’ll find either a Sheriff’s department or City in your area that has such a program.

As I said earlier, some departments will require their applicants to have some higher education. An Associates or Bachelors Degree will be required before they’ll even consider you. Obviously some good choices would be Criminal Justice, Crime Scene Investigation and Psychology.

Another thing that most departments are looking for are men and women who are in good physical shape. Many Police department entry exams will require some type of physical test, and if you’re a couch potato, then your chances are looking slim. If you really want this job bad enough, then it’s worth you starting a physical education routine and getting yourself into shape. Judging by what I see out in public, once you’re in the department, they require very little in the way of physical testing. I see some cops pushing 300 pounds or more and wonder how they can remain in the department when they’re so obese. Heck, they probably have a hard time catching a donut that has fallen on the floor! (sorry, no cop article isn’t complete without a donut story!) But thankfully, more and more Police agencies are requiring their officers to be fit and stay fit!

One of the first things you’ll do in order to be accepted into a Police Department is take a civil service exam. The civil service exams are not the same from Police Department to Police Department. There are many study guides out in the market today. Just make sure you find one that is closely related to the Department you’re applying to. You should also talk to some current Police Officers to find out what the exam will cover. This will help you prepare for the day when you’ll be sitting and taking your exam.

Then you can expect to take a physical exam as stated above. You may even be required to take a lie detector test and obviously a drug test. If you get by these test/exams, then you can look forward to a background check and then most departments will start interviewing you. From there, you may have to wait for an opening or go into a training academy if your local area has one. If not, some community colleges have law enforcement training classes. Don’t expect to walk in one day and be handed a badge, gun and patrol car by the afternoon. It doesn’t work that way and the hiring process can take quite a while.

Becoming a Police Officer can be a very fulfilling career. But don’t kid yourself. It’s very physically and mentally demanding. Many officers don’t make it five years. Others are overcome by stress and resort to drinking or illegal drugs to cope. Divorce rates among Police officers are some of the highest of any civil servants. Of course, all this depends on your location also. Being a cop in Podunk USA where you may be one of only a few cops on the force is a far cry from being a Police Officer in a city like Detroit, Philadelphia or New Orleans.

When considering a career as a Police Officer, you need to take all these things into account. Sure, Hollywood has glamorized being a Cop and we’d all like to think life is like Adam 12, but the cold hard truth is, if you want to become a Police Officer, it isn’t going to be a bed of Roses.

Police Officer Job Salary

How much do Police Officers make? That depends on a lot of things. First off, it depends on where you’ll be working. California has some of the highest paid law enforcement personnel in the country. Some of the larger cities have starting salaries in the $50,000 to $60,000 range and I’ve heard that some Officers in the San Fransisco Bay area make in the neighborhood of $100,000 per year.

Most departments will pay your more as you move up in rank or move into a specialized service like the S.W.A.T. Team.

In my little podunk town, we generally have between 9 and 12 Police officers. The town expects you to have at least an associates degree, CLEET certification and a host of other certificates. And what will you make for all this hard work? $25,956 to start!

As you can see, you’ll get paid better and have better benefits if you work for a larger agency. Of course, working in a small County Sheriff’s department or small town can have it’s own benefits, but not many of them will be monetary!

Have you been wondering about a career as a Pharmacist? Have you been searching for ways on how to become a Pharmacist and received mixed results. Well, this article will outline the steps you’ll need to take in order to become a Pharmacist. I’ll warn you up front, this is not one of those careers that you’ll learn in two years of vo-tech school. Or, I should say that it’s not one of those careers that Uncle Sam will allow you to become a Pharmacist in a short amount of time thanks to the lobbying by the Universities and Colleges around the country. Time was when you could become a Pharmacist with as little as 4 years of College. But not any longer. Expect to study for 8 years or so in order to be licensed as a Pharmacist! But hey, if you’re still reading, let me get into the meat of the subject and show you how to become a Pharmacist.

How Long Does It Take To Become A Pharmacist?

There are courses where you can complete Pharmacy courses in as little as 6 years. But I’d say this is not the norm. The course for the 6 year programs goes like this. You’ll need to find a 0-6 year program and apply for it. It’s best if you do this while you’re still in High School.

They’ll be interested in your SAT score as well as your GPA. In other words, if you’re a slouch or slow learner, it will take you a lot longer to go through Pharmacy school. Even if your grades and scores are high, some schools with these programs require an interview, so you’d better brush up on your interviewing skills if you want to shave some years off of your studies.

This course usually takes about 2 years of completing pre-requisite work. And you’d better keep those grades up! If you pass this hurdle, you’re generally allowed to enter a 3 to 4 year Pharmacy course.

After this course of work is finished, you’ll then be ready for a year (or two) of residency or a fellowship. Some students try and skip the residency route because it’s an option in most states, but it’s very difficult to find Pharmacist who are willing to train you, especially if they’re independent. Having an experienced Pharmacist looking over your shoulder for a year is a wise investment in your future. They’ll show you the ropes and help prevent you from making mistakes. After all, that’s what Residency is all about!

The Traditional Way Of Becoming a Pharmacist

As I stated above, expect to go to school to become a Pharmacist around 8 years. I’ve heard some that go as long as 10 and even 12 years! In my opinion, that ridiculous and we only have the Education lobbyist to thank for it. More money in student loans and to Universities and Colleges.

In the past, you could receive a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, but that is no longer given out. Now the term is a Pharm.D program.

More than likely you’ll have to pass the PCAT (Pharmacy College Admissions Test) and then choose and apply to the Pharmacy school you want to attend.

Now all that time won’t be spent in Pharmacy school. More than likely, you’ll need a Masters Degree in one of the sciences such as biology, chemistry, physical science, etc. before obtaining your Pharm.D degree.

But, you’re not through yet! Once you have graduated with your degree, you now must pass the State Licensing test in the State you wish to practice in! See, there are no guarantees that you’ll receive your license even with 8 or more years of college!

How Much Do Pharmacist Make?

Well, with all that specialized schooling that you’re required to obtain, you’d think that Pharmacist would bring down Lawyer or Doctor type money wouldn’t you? Such is not the case.

Most Pharmacy students start out around $50,000 to $60,000 per year. That sounds great until you realize that you have a pile of student loan debt to pay off! OUCH!!!

If you go into a specialized field of Pharmacy, you can expect to make more. Of course, this is true of any field of specialization you may go into.

The good news is that in most areas, Pharmacist are in great demand. With a year or two experience, some pharmacist are making a 100k or more per year according to an article I read on about.com. There are even some companies willing to pay you a sign on bonus! Now that degree is paying off isn’t it?

The down side is, don’t expect too many pay raises over the course of your career. Pharmacy is one of those career fields where the pay is stagnant over a long period of time. You’ll have to be creative in order to find ways to get higher pay. Heck, you might even want to start your own Pharmacy down the road!

I hope this article has helped you answer some of your questions about how to become a Pharmacist.

If you’re considering becoming a Gunsmith and have asked yourself “How do I become a Gunsmith“, then this article should help you out.

The first thing you’ll need to do is find a school that actually offers a Gunsmithing course. There are very few Gunsmith schools in the U.S. that offers it. The most prominent school and one that many people go through is the Colorado School of Trades in Lakewood Colorado. This school has been turning out scores of top Gunsmith for many years now. If I remember correctly, their course runs 14 months. But to be sure, check with them.

Other top Gunsmith schools across the country are:

Murray State College in Oklahoma: link

Trinidad College in Colorado: link

Lassen College in California: link

Montgomery College in North Carolina: link

Pennsylvania Gunsmith School in Pittsburgh: link

Yavapai School in Prescott Arizona: link

Piedmont College in North Carolina: link

Pine College in Minnesota: link

There are other Trade Schools and Technical Colleges that offer Gunsmithing courses, but these are the ones I’m familiar with.

If you don’t have the time to go to one of these Gunsmith Schools full time, then there are some courses you can take at most technical colleges that will help you get a head start. Several courses you might want to look into are machining and welding. Other courses might include some type of wood working to get you familiar with wood working tools.

There are a lot of online Gunsmith courses available as well. I haven’t looked over the information in these courses so I can’t tell you whether or not they’re good. I’ll list a few here for you to do your own research on them.

Some companies that offer online gunsmithing courses or at home gunsmithing courses are:

Modern Gunsmithing; link

Foley-Belsaw: link

American Gunsmithing Institute: link

Penn Foster: link

Ashworth: link

Another path to becoming a Gunsmith is find one in your local area and see if they offer an apprenticeships. If they do, don’t be surprised if they want a lot of money to take you under their wing and train you. After all, you’ll be asking them to teach you a trade that will last a lifetime. They’ll be putting in a lot of time and effort into your training (or they should be). You’ll likely be asked to do dirty, nasty work and work long hours and weekends. Don’t complain, just to repeat, they’re taking their time and years of experience and teaching you. Be thankful if they decide to take you under their wing and put up with any B.S. that might come your way.

As for becoming a Gunsmith by watching gunsmithing videos or using online gunsmithing courses, I can’t help you there. I don’t know of anyone that I considered a good Gunsmith who obtained their training online or through video’s. I do know some good Gunsmith’s who used video’s to gain some additional knowledge in a certain area, but this was only after they had completed their schooling.

I won’t say it can’t be done, but if you’re really serious about becoming a Gunsmith, I’d say you need to look at one of the schools in the first list and plan on attending until that course is finished. Some of the Technical schools run for 2 years, so plan accordingly. Hopefully this article has shed some light on how to become a gunsmith.

Are you a talented at drawing or sketching? Have you ever wondered how to become a tattoo artist? Read on, here’s what you’ll need to know.

If you are thinking about becoming a tattoo artist, the first thing you’ll want to do is check with the state or province you live in. The days of someone buying some needles and working out of a cardboard box in the back of an alley is over.

Now days, nearly every state or province requires a Tattoo artist to be licensed and a background check performed. Each state has it’s own standards, so be sure to double check the requirements before you go to school or plunk down a load of money for tattoo artist tools.

Once you find out what your state requires, you now have some sort of idea what it takes to get started in the tattoo business.

As stated above, you’re going to need raw talent to begin with. If you have that, you’ll then need to refine that raw talent for sketching and drawing. You may want to consider taking some art classes. If you can’t draw and sketch better than most people, forget about becoming a tattoo artist!

In order to gain some real world experience, you’ll want to search out someone willing to take you under their wing and mentor you. What you’re doing is looking for an apprenticeship. But beware, some tattoo shops just offer an apprenticeship in order to get free or low cost help. What you need to be looking for is a true Master of the craft. One you can learn a lot from and one you can get along with!

Be aware, you may be the best artist around, but many shops will require some money to train you. You may also be required to work for free or for peanuts. Hey, it’s the cost most of the Masters had to pay when they started, so don’t think you’re special.

Many students of the Tattoo craft find that they must work full time and then study to become a tattoo artist in the spare time. Unless you have money coming out of your ears, the chances are good you’ll also have to work while you learn.

At some point, you may think you know enough to go out on your own. Trust me, you don’t!

In time, if you’re skills progress, the shop may offer you a position or you may become good enough to work for another tattoo shop. Just remember, in order to go out on your own, you’ll need a portfolio. The best way to get it is either in Prison (that’s a joke if you didn’t get it) or by paying your due diligence and working for someone else while you hone your skills and build up a portfolio.

Now that you know a little bit about how to become a tattoo artist, really think about this business before jumping in. There are shops opening up every day ran by true Masters. Reality based shows on TV like Ink make it sound all fun and games. But it’s anything but that. Just as there are tons and tons of Masters opening up shops every day, there are also tons and tons of Masters going out of business because they have no idea how to bring in customers or because their work is not near as good as they think it is.

Your customers will let everyone know how good, or bad, your work is. You want to find out before going into the tattoo business for yourself whether or not you’re really as good as you think you are. Let’s face it, your skills may suck and you have a bunch of friends and family who don’t want to hurt your feelings and tell you that you’re the best sketcher or artist they’ve ever seen.

Hey, maybe you are to them, but to someone who’s been around in the tattoo business a long time, your stuff my stink! Get honest evaluations from true Masters in the business!

Question: I would like to know what I need to become a software engineer. Things like, how long do I have to go to school, what courses I need to take, how much does a beginning software engineer make and any recommendations to colleges for a software engineer in the United States of America.

Answer: To start with, make sure this is a career you really want. Time recently did a survey and Software Engineers came in #1 on the list as being the career with the most stress. Many people will tell you that these jobs are also being outsourced overseas. Although currently there is still a good market for Software Engineers in the U.S., expect that number to fall as time goes on and more and more jobs are sent overseas.

This answer is for anyone considering Software Engineering as a career path who is at the high school or college level.

Although you don’t have to have a degree, it will go a long ways in ensuring your hirability when you go apply for jobs. A four year degree is the minimum I would consider. It’s just too darn difficult to get an entry level job as a software engineer without one.

If your high school offers computer science or other similar courses, take them. Also, plan on taking lots of math. This will be a big help down the road.

Decide early on which career path inside the Software Engineer label you want to pursue. If you love to design and build games, you’ll need a Computer Science degree. On the other hand, if you want to work for a corporations such as IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, then a Computer Science degree will be your ticket.

If you desire to work at building mostly business applications, consider a degree in MIS (Management Information Systems) or one of the many business technical degrees now offered. This type of degree is best for most, because it also teaches you about business management. This increases your odds of getting your foot in the door.

As for schools, there are many out there and I don’t believe one rises above the others when it comes to computer science. At the end of the day, it comes down to the individual and how bad they want to become a software engineer.

Question:

I know you need to go to flight training school. What else is involved? And how much do they make.

Answer:

Of course you’ll need flight school training. You’ll also need some experience and on the job training as well. Flight school training can only teach you so much. You’ll need some practical experience before anyone will hire you.

Most commerical airline pilots get their start in the Air Force. Your best bet is too try and get on at an air freight company. Obviously, this pay is a little less than an air charter company where you’ll be flying people around all the time. It’s bad if you crash either way, but most air charter insurance companies and business owners would rather you crash with a load of plywood than a load of passengers!

Most flight training schools have offices at local airports. Look for a high quality school at an out of the way airport instead of a major International airport. Many of these people you meet will be in your network of people who may be able to help you land a job as a charter freight pilot.

As for the pay, expect to put in long hours for 20 to 30k to start. With experience comes more money. Also, it really depends on the type of plane you’ll be flying. Larger planes equal more money! Again, check with the people in your local area or at the flight training school.

Question: i am looking into become foreign exchange student next year but i am have a problem finding a reliable source of information. Our school is small and our counselor wasn’t really sure, but she said she’d check into it.

Answer:The first thing you need to do is check out reliable organizations such as AFS, YFU and the Rotary club. You’ll find that the Rotary club is the least expensive but the most competitive.

The next step is to contact the organizations. You can AFS and YFU using google. Call your local Chamber of Commerce and ask for the local Rotary Club. Contact a Member and tell them you want to become a foreign exchange student. They will get you pointed in the right direction.

Now you apply. You may apply as many times as you like, but be aware that you’ll have to pay a non-refundable application fee for each application. What ever you do, make sure you’re totally honest on your application and the letter to the host family. These are used to find and place you with a foreign exchange student host family.

If you are interested in scholarships, grants or Student Loans, you should apply as soon as possible.

I could go on and on having been a foreign exchange student myself, but you’ll find most of the info you need at the Rotary website. You can also visit you local library or go to Google and search for “how do i become a foreign exchange student“.

To become a great point guard will require an even deeper level of commitment and focus from you.

Next you need to find a dedicated coach. A good coach will be able to show you where you need to improve, keep you motivated and possibly even pair you up with a great point guard in basketball.

Make no mistake about it, a good point guard is made, not born. It sounds like you already have the confidence and willing to take the game of basketball to an all new level, you just need some guidance now. Don’t give up, keep on practicing.

I’d also look around to see if there is a basketball league around you. Play against men bigger than you are and better. By playing against bigger and better players, you’ll learn how to beat them.
